Rookery update
There are now seven nests in the new Whinney Lane Rookery, up from six at the last count. The original rookery is now very active and I’ve found a further rookery-annexe adjacent to Yew Tree Drive, 720m south-west of the original rookery and 900m south-west of the new Whinney Lane Rookery. I think these must all be part of the same social group of rooks who have expanded from the originally rookery into adjacent bands of trees perhaps due to lack of space to expand the original rookery? I don’t know, that’s just my thoughts at the moment.
